Dr. David Ako-Annan

(CEO, President)

David Ako-Annan, PhD is the Founder and President of Eastside Health Foundation. David brings comprehensive experience in healthcare management with a specialty in leading direct operational and business development services. He has more than 15 years of experience in leadership roles including playing a key role in organization’s growth and developments.
David previously served as the Co-Founder and Senior Vice President for over 5 years and later president and founder of Eastside Health Foundation. In his role, he is responsible for the overall company strategy and execution. He is tasked with deciding and pursuing the organization’s mission, vision, and strategy.
David holds a PhD in International Business with his dissertation on healthcare delivery and management. His master degrees were in healthcare management and human relations and counseling.

David enjoys most outdoor activities including humanitarian services.

Dr. Maite Esquijarosa Hechavarria

(Senior Vice Chair)

Dr. Maite Esquijarosa Hechavarria is a dedicated medical professional with expertise in Anesthesia and Resuscitation. Currently serving as a Specialist and Lecturer at the School of Medicine, University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ho, Ghana, she contributes significantly to academia and holds the position of Head at the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care.

Beyond her academic role, Dr. Hechavarria actively engages in NGO work, impacting healthcare policies and clinical practices at regional hospitals. Her journey, originating from the Higher Institute of Medical Science in Cuba, includes diverse experiences such as serving in the Cuban Ministry of Interior and participating in a medical mission to Ghana. With a Master’s in Pain Management and a passion for research, Dr. Hechavarria has made substantial contributions to Anesthesiology, publishing numerous papers and supervising research projects.

Her multifaceted career, blending academic excellence, practical expertise, and humanitarian efforts, establishes her as a distinguished figure in the field, making a lasting impact on individuals and communities.

Mr. Raymond Nii Odoi Annan

(Chairperson)

Raymond Nii Odoi Annan is the Chief Information Officer and the Chairperson of Eastside Health Foundation.
In his role, Raymond is responsible for the overall strategy and direction for all information Technology(IT) systems of Eastside Health Foundation. These systems include network infrastructure, telecommunications, software development and support, database administration and IT system security.
Prior to his current role, Raymond served as Vice President of IT Services and vice president of IT Applications services where he managed all custom application development.
Over his 25 years experience in IT budget, consolidated IT infrastructure, strengthened disaster recovery and business continuity posture, successfully led the transition of cloud services and has supported the organization’s growth over the years.
Raymond holds various certifications and degrees in information systems, leadership and information technology. He obtained an information Technology Infrastructure Library(ITIL) Foundation Certification.

Lawyer Ms. Seyywoe Kwakuvi-Zagbedeh

(Senior Vice Chair)

Seyywoe Kwakuvi-Zagbedeh (Ms) is a lawyer by profession having been called to the Ghana Bar in October, 2009 and employed by Office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice. Her areas of expertise include Intellectual Property Law, Corporate Law and Family Law. Additionally, she has considerable experience in the fields of book publishing as well as Non-Governmental Organizations. She is gradually growing Faivlovz & Toofish, a legal centred business. 

She finds humour in everything, enjoys cooking, admiring nature, and loves being by waterfronts. 

Dr. Eric Asare

(Vice Chair)

Dr. Asare is distinguished professional holding a PhD. in Applied Economics with a specialization in Econometrics. An avid and passionate advocate of machine learning and AI technologies, he firmly believes in their substantial potential to enhance and streamline productive processes.

Dr. Asare is also an accomplished entrepreneur, an award-winning author, and the esteemed founder and CEO of Breman-Asare Holdings Inc, a duly incorporated company based in Toronto, Canada.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr. Asare finds joy in spending quality time with his family and appreciating the invaluable ecosystem services that nature provides.

Mr. Frank Kwakume

(Vice Chair)

Frank Kwawukume, a seasoned HR professional with 30 years of rich experience, has seamlessly woven together his expertise in human resources, academia, and humanitarian efforts.

Beyond his academic contributions, he stands as a dedicated advocate for positive change through his active engagement in NGO work.

His commitment extends beyond borders, having traveled to Europe and the USA, acquiring a global perspective that enriches his approach to addressing societal challenges.

Frank’s multifaceted career also encompasses significant roles in economic planning and public relations, amplifying his ability to make a lasting impact.

Passionate about research, Frank channels his knowledge and skills to contribute meaningfully to the social sector.

His journey is a testament to a life dedicated to creating a better world through a harmonious blend of professional excellence and altruism.

Ms. Asantewaa Afriyie Bonsu

(Treasurer)

Asantewaa Afriyie Bonsu is an environmental, occupational health and safety Management Officer. Currently, she is pursuing her Masters program in Interdisciplinary Environmental and Life Sciences.

With over five years of experience, she has worked with the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited Accra and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Sunyani. She specializes in profitable environmental procedures and is responsible for educating third party companies employees and small medium enterprises on using Personal protective Equipments (PPEs) and good safety practices, cost effective mechanisms and efficient input-output organizational systems.

She is a powerful force in the workplace and uses her positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others to work hard and succeed. She is available for freelance assignments and speaking engagements.

In her free time, she likes to read inspirational books, listen to music and play football with the family.

Ms. Leticia Ayesua Akoto

(Secretary)

Ayesua Akoto Sarkodie Leticia serves as a Residence Pastor at Christ Palace Charismatic Church. She is proficient in several languages, including Akan, Akwapem, Krobo, Ga, Sefwi, and English. Ayesua’s educational background includes attending Aggrey Memorial Secondary School and Dominion University, where she earned a Diploma in Christian Ministry.

In addition to her spiritual role, Ayesua is the CEO of Na’Sark General Merchandise, a business that offers a wide range of legally traded goods. She also leads an evangelical group called For Christ Escape, dedicated to impacting lives and supporting the needy through various Christian ministries.

Ayesua’s character is marked by resilience in moral values such as loyalty, honesty, patience, and hard work. With excellent communication skills and a leadership philosophy centered on serving to lead and leading to serve, she strives to achieve goals and objectives while remaining grounded in her faith.

Ayesua loves to travel, write, reading, and spend time with good company, reflecting her vibrant and engaging personality.

Ms. Gladys Awaki Mensah

(Executive Deputy Secretary)

Gladys Awaki Mensah is a highly motivated and dedicated executive deputy secretary, known for her exceptional organizational skills and versatile background. She is a graduate of the prestigious University of Ghana, holding a degree in Public Administration and Chinese, a testament to her diverse academic interests.

Gladys’s passion for learning extends beyond the classroom, as she has a deep love for reading. Her inquisitive nature and thirst for knowledge have made her an excellent researcher and problem solver, qualities that she brings to her role as a personal assistant.

In addition to her intellectual pursuits, Gladys also enjoys an active lifestyle. Playing volleyball is not just a hobby but a way for her to stay fit and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Gladys Awaki Mensah’s unique blend of academic prowess, commitment to learning, and an active lifestyle make her an ideal personal assistant, ready to take on any challenge that comes her way.
